Behind the Scenes of Dame Mary Quant

Enjoy an afternoon of fashion talks about Mary Quant British Fashion Designer. Learn about Mary’s motivation to open Bazaar in 1955, how she developed as a designer and hear personal memories and anecdotes of working with her. Listen to personal experiences from a fashion model who worked with Mary in the 60’s and 70’s.

A curator from the V & A Museum will discuss Mary Quant’s lasting legacy and the recent exhibition.

The afternoon will include tea/coffee refreshments and free entry into the Fashion and Textile Museum (you can enter the museum either before or after the event at your leisure).


Programme

1.30 pm

This exciting talk will include personal memories and anecdotes working with Mary Quant for a great number of years. Learn about Mary’s motivation to open Bazaar in 1955 and how she developed as a designer.

2.15 pm

An interesting hands-on talk about modelling for Mary Quant and other designers in the 60’s and 70’s.

2.50 pm

Tea/Coffee & Biscuits

3.15 pm

A talk from a curator from the Victoria & Albert Museum about Mary Quant’s lasting legacy and the recent exhibition hosted there.

3.55 pm

Question & Answer session with all 3 speakers
